A single-shaft screw conveyor operates on the principle of rotary helical propulsion to convey bulk materials continuously along a fixed path.
Driven by a motor and gearbox, the central shaft with welded helical flighting rotates inside a U-trough or tubular casing. As the screw turns, the helical blades engage materials such as powder, granules, or sludge. Materials are prevented from rotating with the screw by their own weight and friction against the casing, and are instead pushed axially toward the discharge end.
This axial movement is maintained steadily throughout horizontal, inclined, or slightly vertical conveying. Conveying capacity can be adjusted by changing the screw rotation speed, flight pitch, or shaft diameter. The fully enclosed structure minimizes dust emission and ensures stable, low-noise operation for continuous feeding and transfer in environmental protection, sewage treatment, and bulk handling systems.
